What is amigurumi? Isn't it the same as crocheting?
Amigurumi and crocheting are basically the same. The main difference is the process of making a 3D toy. Amigurumi mainly involves working in spheres and stuffing to form limbs of little animals, while crocheting is typically used to create things like beanies and blankets.
How do I wash my amigurumi?
It depends on the type of yarn used for your amigurumi. All amigurumis come with washing directions but these are the washing methods I recommend.
For acrylic yarns and select polyester yarn, hand-washing and air drying is the recommended method. For blanket yarn and other select yarn the recommended method for washing amigurumi is also hand washing, but you may machine wash. If machine washing, make sure to place amigurumi in a pillowcase. If washing more than one, make sure to put them in separate pillowcases. Wash using the delicate setting and using delicate/gentle laundry detergent.
Can I request different colors/ size for an amigurumi?
For custom color, select the custom button to request one. Please enter color choices in text boxes. Please allow a turnaround time of 2-3 weeks.
For different size, if not already offered, please follow directions for custom orders.
Do you sell pre-made amigurumi?
Yes, all pre-made amigurumi are listed by colors or names. These amigurumi ship within 1-3 business days.
Do you offer custom amigurumi?
Yes, if you wish to request a custom, please fill out the custom request form. If your request is accepted, you will receive a invoice requesting a 30% non-refundable down payment. This down payment must be fulfilled in order to secure and start your order. The rest of the payment must be paid before custom(s) can be shipped. After completion, customs have 14 days to be fully paid before they are released for public consumption on stitchedbykayla.com.
Please expect a turnaround time of 2-3 weeks. Once completed and paid, orders will be shipped in 1-3 business days.
How long does it take for a product to be shipped out?
It depends on if you're ordering a pre-made amigurumi or a custom color one. Pre-made amigurumi will ship in 1-3 business days. Customs have a 3-4 week turnaround time and ship in 1-3 business days after completion.
Why would the amigurumi vary between size and weight?
Sizes and weight may vary because each one is handmade, and because of that, different things can change the overall product, such as the amount of filling used, the tightness of stitches, and even the different brands of hooks.
